This little girl just loves to snuggle and be held. Her favorite spot is right on your shoulder. Laying on her belly helps with her gassy tummy.

2 week checkup
Emily had her two week checkup appointment with the pediatrician today. Poor little girl screamed at the top of her lungs after having her first hepatitis shot. Mommy's eyes started to tear up just seeing how much pain she was in. On a good note, she gained almost a whole pound since her birth and now weighs 6 lbs 2 oz. We were really worried that maybe she wasn't getting enough to eat, but it turns out, she's getting plenty.

Week 2
This marks the first official entry in the story section of Emily's website. It's amazing how quickly little girls learn to wrap their dad around their little fingers. We both would do anything for this little girl and love her so much.
The first week was especially hard with me recovering from surgery and with everyone getting adjusted to the new baby. Mom & dad came to stay with us for about 2 weeks to help out. It's a working progress, but we're slowly learning how to tend to Emily and keep her happy. There are so many little things she does that melts our hearts - the way she loves to cuddle up to you when falling asleep, the way she puckers her bottom lip when she's sleeping, the cute little noises she makes when she's awake, the way she laughs just before she's about to fall asleep. Dale says she makes a "popeye face" that makes him laugh every time. She didn't like it at first, but now she loves to lay on your shoulder. And boy is this one strong little girl! She kicks her feet a mile a minute when she's fussy. Dale calls them little karate kicks. She is already looking at objects around her and is trying very hard to hold her head up. What great progress for just a little over a week old!
